Who We Are
This moment is an opportunity for visioning something new that is outside of the current story. We have to go into imagination.

Veronica Mills, Co-Founder/Co-Director
Veronica is a writer and a certified mental health trauma support peer specialist with expertise in integrative healing practices. She combines ancient Eastern and African spiritual traditions with modern therapeutic approaches to provide holistic care. Her innovative methods, centered on mental health, offer a forward-thinking framework for addressing complex challenges, including those posed by climate change. Veronica’s dedication to mental health and her ability to integrate diverse healing modalities empower individuals and communities to navigate trauma and build resilience in the face of adversity.
With 15 years of experience working directly with communities worldwide to develop creative, behavior-focused solutions to humanitarian challenges. Veronica ensures communication strategies are accessible, actionable, and tailored for climate-impacted populations.
As a communications lead for a U.S. government agency, Veronica introduced innovative engagement strategies, including launching a podcast and incorporating lived experiences of homelessness into policy development. She prioritized equity in federal discussions and policy-making. During the Ebola crisis in Liberia, she collaborated with field staff and international media to elevate frontline voices, grounding response narratives in the realities of affected communities.
Her international work includes training in Bangladesh on gender equity and social mobilization in agriculture, where she developed strategies like male engagement and peer-to-peer methods to support climate-resilient practices among women farmers. In Lesotho, she worked with the Ministry of Health to design sustainable interventions that improved HIV prevention uptake and bridged gaps between clinical and community health services. Veronica has also developed climate equity-focused communication strategies in Tanzania, Swaziland, and Nigeria, addressing the intersections of climate change, food security, education, and maternal health.

Jamilah Sabur, Co-Founder/Co-Director
Jamilah is an artist, community organizer, and researcher whose work explores the intersections of metaphysics, geology, and language to confront urgent questions of our time. Through her poetic practice, she exposes the exploitative and exclusionary systems that persist amidst existential threats such as biodiversity loss and climate change, challenging audiences to critically examine humanity’s complex relationship with the natural world.
Jamilah has created artistic projects for organizations including the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, The Port of Miami, Gucci-London Bond Street Flagship; the University of Maryland and De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) – the central bank of the Netherlands. These projects foster critical dialogue on environmental and social issues, inspiring deeper connections to nature while promoting ecological stewardship and social transformation.
As a community organizer, Jamilah devises innovative strategies for campaigns and action. During her tenure as Lead Organizer for the Florida Immigrant Coalition, she spearheaded a campaign opposing the suspension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian refugees. She traveled to Tijuana, Mexico—ground zero of a humanitarian crisis at the U.S. border—conducting trauma-sensitive reporting with refugee groups. Her work, amplified by media appearances, shaped policy recommendations and highlighted the transformative power of narrative in influencing public policy.
In her media advocacy, Jamilah has produced pieces addressing the environmental and humanitarian impacts of deep-sea mining on the Global South, as well as a documentary exposing the harmful effects of bauxite mining in Jamaica by European and U.S. multinationals. Her current research examines the European project and the enduring role of religion in global politics, arguing that understanding religion’s influence is essential to addressing key geopolitical dynamics.
